Marion Community Foundation Grants:

All Marion Community Foundation Scholarships are awarded based on merit, like your achievements, qualifications, skills, and knowledge. The applicant must review the list of scholarships that are suitable for your career goals, qualifications, and background.

The Marion Community Foundation Scholarships Program awards more than $500,000 annually to high school seniors, nontraditional students, and college students.

What scholarships does the Marion Community Foundation offer?

1. Marion Academy of Medicine Scholarship:

This scholarship is for the area of students who are studying osteopathic medicine.

  • Applicant must graduate from high school.
  • The applicant must have studied at a High school located in Marion County.
  • The applicant who has a relative already studying at Marion Academy of Medicine is not eligible for this scholarship.
  • Require college GPA 3.0+
  • The applicant must be studying osteopathic medicine or studying at medical school.

2. Alex Family Scholarship:

  • The applicant must be a high school senior.
  • The applicant must be in the 25th percentile of the high school class.
  • The relatives and family members of Helen L. and James L. Alex are not eligible for the scholarship.
  • The applicant must have studied at Harding High School for all four years.

Special Consideration: If the applicant shows extra excellence in the study of history or plans to study history at college, they will be given much attention at the time of reviewing the application. Those students have a higher chance of getting Marion Community Foundation Scholarships.

3. Altrusa Club of Marion Scholarship:

  • The applicant must be a high school senior or graduate.
  • The applicant must study at Marion County High School.
  • Required GPA: 2.5+
  • The applicant must be in the 50th percentile of their class, not be the first 10th topper of the class.
  • Family members and relatives of Altrusa Club of Marion donors who created scholarships are ineligible for this scholarship.
  • Applicants must demonstrate they need financial aid for education.
  • Applicants must have lived in Marion County throughout their high school education.
  • The applicant must be a senior and a candidate for graduation, and they complete their education from e-school, digital/online school, virtual academy, another state-recognized charter nonpublic school, home school, or community school.
